The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page covers registration and funding enquiries. 1. What are the funding support available?

The IBF Standards Training Scheme (“IBF-STS”) provides funding for training and assessment programmes accredited under the Skills Framework for Financial Services.

 

For our training programmes that are accredited under the IBF Standards, eligible Singaporeans & PRs that are physically based in Singapore can apply for funding support under the IBF Standards Training Scheme (IBF-STS), subjected to all eligibility criteria being met.

 

For training programmes commencing from 1 Jan 2023 onwards:

  • 50% of direct training cost*
  • Only Singapore Citizens aged 40 years old and above will be eligible for 70% co-funding of direct training costs.
  • Funding support is capped at $3,000
  • Kindly note that from 3 Oct 2022, GST funding support will no longer be applicable for all courses.

Training Programmes that are accredited under the IBF Standards:

Self-Sponsored

 

All Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) that are physically based in Singapore are eligible for up to 50% funding support from 1 January 2023. Funding support is capped at $3,000. (Excluding GST).

 

Only Singaporeans 40 years old and above that are physically based in Singapore are eligible for up to 70% funding support from 1 January 2023. Funding support is capped at $3,000. (Excluding GST).

 

Company-Sponsored

 

Company-Sponsored participants have to be Singaporeans or Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) that are physically based in Singapore. Eligible companies refer to Financial Institutions that are regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) (either licensed / exempted from licensing) and Fintech companies that are registered with the Singapore Fintech Association.

 

For Company-Sponsored participants that fulfil the above requirements, the company is eligible for up to 70% funding support from IBF. Funding support is capped at $3,000. (Excluding GST).

 

  • All Singaporeans & PRs below 40 years old – Up To 50%
  • Only Singaporeans 40 years old and above – Up To 70%

This funding support works on a nett fee model.

 

For Self-Sponsored:

 

  • You have to be a Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) that is physically based in Singapore.
  • Thereafter, you will pay the course fees minus the funding support which is 30%/50% of the course fees.
  • Funding support is capped at $3,000.
  • (Funding Support does not cover GST).
  • For example, if the course fees are S$4320 w/GST, you will be paying S$1,520/S$2,320 w/GST

 

For Company-Sponsored:

 

  • You have to be a Singaporean or Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) that is physically based in Singapore and you are working in an eligible company which refers to Financial Institutions that are regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) (either licensed / exempted from licensing) and Fintech companies that are registered with the Singapore Fintech Association.
  • Thereafter, the company will pay the course fees minus the funding support which is 30% of the course fees (Funding Support does not cover GST).
  • For example, if the course fees are S$4320 w/GST, the company will be paying S$1,520 w/GST because the funding support does not cover GST for company-sponsored participants. Funding support is capped at $3,000.

 

Remaining 30%/50%  of the course fees can be paid using your SkillsFuture Credits (Only for Self-Sponsored) or Cash via Bank Transfer/PayNow.

For Singaporeans age 25 years old and above, you are able to use your SkillsFuture Credits to pay for the remaining course fees.

 

Step-by-Step Guide will be emailed to you.

 

If you did not receive the guide, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Check your email for the invoice sent out by our Finance Team within 3 working days.
  2. Head over to https://www.myskillsfuture.gov.sg/
  3. Login using your SingPass
  4. Submit the SkillsFuture Credits Claim Application for the respective course
  5. Take a screenshot of the successful claim application
  6. Email the screenshot to finance@smartcademy.sg

For you to receive the funding support, please take note of the following:

 

  • Minimum of 75% attendance (Meaning you can only miss 2 out of 8 lessons or 1 out of  4/5 lessons)
  • Achieve 50% Pass for Assessment

 

For courses with MCQ Quizzes, have to pass 75% of the Quizzes.

 

For courses with Capstone Project, a Pass grade is required for project and it has to be submitted by the deadline given.

6. How do I sign up for a course?

Our registration process is very simple.

 

  • Click on ‘Apply Now’ and fill up the form with all your relevant information.
  • Submit and pay S$100 deposit to secure your slot
  • Receive confirmation email for the course

We have very high demand and limited slots for our courses. It would be unfair to those who did not manage to sign up when participants withdraw from the course last minute. Hence, we implement this compulsory deposit upon sign up for those who are truly interested to join our courses.

Deposits are strictly non-refundable as we have secured your slot for you and will not give up your slot to anybody else.

Course fees are strictly non-refundable once you have paid.

All participants are required to achieve a minimum of 75% attendance.

 

Meaning to say:

  • If the course consist of 8 lessons, you can only miss 2 lessons max.
  • If the course consist of 5 lessons, you can only miss 1 lessons max.
  • If the course consist of 4 lessons, you can only miss 1 lessons max.

Most of our courses do not require any prior background knowledge.

 

For courses that require prior background knowledge, it will be stated clearly on the course page.

All our courses are conducted Online via Live Webinar-style on Zoom.

 

Video camera has to be turn on at all times during the lesson.

 

Screenshots will be taken at two intervals during the lesson (30 mins after commencement of class and 3o mins before the class end).
